About

HEY THERE,
I'm Mic, a freelance designer and educator based in Arkansas. I earned my degree from the University of Arkansas–Fort Smith, where I studied Graphic Design. As an educator, my ensembles have made successful appearances in BOA Grand Nationals Finals, PIW, PIO, PSO, PSA, WIA, and WIO.
I’m driven by problem solving and inspired by movement, wordplay, visual art, and music. I’m especially drawn to the relationship between sound and image, using audio/visual synthesis and typographic experimentation to create rich aesthetics, unexpected compositions, and visuals that push beyond traditional design norms. My work includes set design, drill, comprehensive and scaffolded exercises, show graphics, and video.
With a strong technical foundation, I work at the intersection of design, art, and music, often moving between traditional and digital mediums to shape ideas in more tactile and expressive ways. I’ve collaborated with a range of program coordinators and designers, embracing the notion that collaboration can help us arrive at a greater sense of individuality.
